„CO-Living”

MEROUJAN MINASSIAN

CEO at Storaket Architectural Studio, Armenia

Case studies: Azatutyun Multifunctional Complex, Luyser Residential Building, Skyline

The lecture will present a selection of our recent projects that reflect how we work with the environment and its context. Each project demonstrates the impact architecture can have on the community, surrounding buildings, cultural heritage, and the city as a whole. Through these examples, we will share our experience from the past year, focusing on the core ideas that guide us when starting a project. The audience will gain a practical understanding of our design process—from concept to realization—highlighting the challenges, choices, and outcomes that shape our work. Particular attention will be given to our innovative approaches in contextual design, including the ways we integrate environment, heritage, and community needs into contemporary projects. We will also discuss the materials, techniques, and design strategies we use to ensure that our projects are sustainable, respectful of their context, and enriching to their surroundings.

„Sustainable transformation”

ROMAN KRISTESIASHVILI

Senior Associate UNStudio, The Netherlands

Sustainable Transformation Through Architecture and Urban Design Architectural and urban projects are never created in isolation; they are deeply rooted in the past while shaping bridges to the future. This lecture explores how architecture can transform spaces, environments, and the experiences of end users by addressing past challenges and adapting to new needs and habits. Through the lens of three transformative UNS projects—Booking.com Campus in Amsterdam, Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, and Kutaisi International Airport in Georgia—we will examine the key design drivers that have placed these projects on the map.

"Concept stages and form creation"

ARTAK KNYAZYAN

Founder-Partner AGL Architectural Studio, Armenia

The Lecture will demonstrate that architectural ideas are never born in isolation. Instead, they emerge from a wide spectrum of inspirations – from nature, culture, and history to art, technology, and the dynamics of everyday life. We will examine how these diverse influences serve as starting points that develop into concepts, and how those concepts ultimately shape architectural form. By following this journey, the lecture aims to reveal that form is never arbitrary; it is the outcome of an ongoing dialogue between inspiration, creativity, and design logic.

„PROFAL: Made in Armenia, Designed for the World: What Local Manufacturing Teaches the Global Market”

EDGAR AVETISYAN

CEO of PROFAL

The 10-minute keynote by the CEO of PROFAL explores how a locally rooted aluminum and glass manufacturer from Armenia has grown into a globally trusted partner for architects and developers. The speech highlights how PROFAL’s origin in a small, resource-limited market forged core strengths: precision, agility, and collaborative design. It emphasizes the company's international certifications, export success, and ability to deliver complex, custom projects faster than many traditional Western suppliers. At its core, the message is clear: local innovation, when shaped by challenge, can redefine global standards and PROFAL is proof of that.

„Place in space”

DAVIDE MACULLO

Founder, Davide Macullo Architects, Switzerland

Through an ecological approach – in environmental terms but above all in human terms – Davide Macullo will showcase the main hospitality projects designed by his studio. A journey through the joy of designing in a contextual manner, always attentive to the psychology of space and the impact that architecture has on the context, on nature and on man.

„Architecture as a Mediator: Reconnecting People, Place, and Nature”

CONSTANTINOS CONSTANTI

Director/Founder of Constanti Architects ENAPROSEKATO LLC, Cyprus

Case studies: CASAVERDE, FLAMINGO PARADISE BEACH HOTEL, EDEN RESIDENCES

This lecture explores how architecture can serve as a bridge between human life, cultural identity, and the natural environment. Through case studies, attendees will discover design principles that foster ecological and social reconnection, while gaining insights into architecture’s broader impact on resilience, community identity, and environmental stewardship. The presentation highlights innovative approaches that merge ecological science with design, emphasizing natural and recycled materials, bioclimatic strategies, adaptive reuse, and community-centered spaces that blur boundaries between built form and nature.

„Wellbeing through water - Grohe SPA”

SALTANAT ZHUMAGALI

Leader, Project channel Central Asia & Caucasus at GROHE

The presentation will introduce the GROHE SPA portfolio, focusing on premium collections and bespoke bathroom solutions. Special attention will be given to 3D-printed faucets, ceiling showers, and customizable modular concepts that enable architects and designers to create unique spaces centered on wellbeing through water. „Catalyst for Development”

TOBIAS KEYL

Associate Partner GMP, Germany

This presentation highlights two projects that, though different in scale and purpose, both act as catalysts for sustainable, human-centered development. They demonstrate how thoughtful design can respond to local conditions, turning opportunities into meaningful impact. The focus will be on innovative planning strategies, materials, and techniques that enhance connectivity, environmental quality, and social interaction. Through these examples, the audience will see how design can guide regional growth with purpose.

„infill - Between Neighborhoods”

FARSHAD MEHDIZADEH

Founder FMZD, Iran

Case studies: Yalda House, Khezershahr Villa, Babylon Villa

Tehran’s foothill character, once defined by its kooche-bagh texture shaped by slope and topography, is increasingly erased by uniform, gridded urban expansion. Monotonous densities and disconnected façades have turned the cityscape into a wall of competing identities, detached from residents’ lives. This condition—what can be called inter-neighborhood or infill—demands a rethinking of façades and urban design programs, where architectural elements move beyond commercial graphics to regain their role in shaping and organizing meaningful urban space.

Q&A

„Experiential Urbanism: Narratives Rooted in Place” (Live Online Session)

BERNARD KHOURY

Founder of Bernard Khoury / DW5, Lebanon

Case Studies: Corniche De Dakar

This lecture explores how urban projects can transform public spaces into experiential journeys rooted in local narratives. The Corniche of Dakar illustrates this approach through sequences that connect city and waterfront, drawing on culture, craft, and ecology to celebrate everyday life. In contrast, the speculative proposal Since We Couldn’t Part the Red Sea pushes the limits of symbolic and contextual interventions, embodying an experimental spirit. The audience will discover methods that privilege local practices over imported models, integrating craft, para-architecture, and contextual materiality. Key themes include experiential urbanism, narrative sequencing, and unorthodox strategies that reinvent landscapes while honoring identity.
